The 2018 ICMH Congress in Israel

Published: Tuesday, 12 September 2017

The XLIV Congress of the International Commission of Military History will be in Israel. The main topic of the Congress will be The Creation of New States and Collapse of Old Empires in the XXth Century. The year 2018, indeed, coincides with two important events: the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel and the End of World War One Centenary.

This double anniversary offers a wonderful opportunity to discuss both the end of World War One and the large number of new States which had been created afterwards, and the birth of new States in the context of wars of liberation and independence. The venue of the Congress will be the Yearim Hotel, which sits atop one of the highest peaks in the Jerusalem hills, fully immersed in nature’s charms. The hotel’s conference center offers a variety of conference halls for the Congress needs.

The Congress will be held from September, 2 to September, 7. The pre-Congress tour will take place from August, 28 to August, 31. The dates have been updated in December 2017!
