9. General description of contents |
The NIMH preserves a diverse collection of documents, photographs and films. These are donated by (ex) military personnel, as well as civil organisations who are linked to the Dutch armed forces like the trade-union of naval officers. The NIMH also holds the research archives of military history researchers that are employed at the institute. The majority of the collection comprises the late nineteenth and twentieth century and covers WWII, the decolonisation war in the Dutch East Indies, the Cold War and missions from Korea in the early 1950s to former Yugoslavia in the 1990s. The remainder of the collection is diverse in subject as well as time periods. |
