Educational Committee Announces New Secretary-General and First Online Meeting

The Educational Committee of the International Commission of Military History has announced the appointment of a new Secretary-General and the launch of a new series of online meetings to foster scientific exchange and networking among its members.

Following a by-election held during the 2025 international conference in Dakar (Senegal), Prof. Dr. Hafid Mokadem of the Moroccan Commission of Military History has been appointed Secretary-General of the Educational Committee.  Prof. Mokadem holds a PhD in History and Heritage (Kénitra), a Master’s Degree in Medieval Archaeology (Rabat), and a Specialized Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage Management and Museology (Alexandria). 

To strengthen scientific interaction between annual international conferences, the Educational Committee is launching a new series of online meetings open to Committee members and other interested ICMH members.  The first online meeting will be held on 5 January 2026 at 18:00 (Paris time, GMT+1) on the ZOOM platform. 

The inaugural program includes a welcome address by the President of the Educational Committee, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Heiner Bröckermann, followed by a presentation by Prof. Dr. Hafid Mokadem titled “Contribution of the Fes Arms Museum to the Teaching of Military History in Morocco.”
