ICMH Newsletter #43, June 2025, Now Available
The International Commission of Military History (ICMH) has released its Newsletter #43 for June 2025. This publication serves as a regular communication channel for all components of the ICMH, including its leadership, Executive Board, Full Board, three specialized committees, national commissions, and individual military historians. The digital platform aims to overcome geographical and linguistic barriers, enhancing the continued relevance and viability of the ICMH, fostering global professionalism and cooperation in military history, and facilitating the sharing of best practices.
Newsletter #43 features regular sections such as the President's Address, updated information on the 50th ICMH Congress to be held in Dakar, and details regarding the Corvisier Prize and Fellowship. This issue also includes two items commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Romanian Commission, underscoring the high regard in which the Romanian Commission is held by ICMH leadership. Updates from ten national military history commissions are featured, an increase from the usual seven or eight per issue. "Historical Footnotes" precedes the final item, an obituary for Professor Brian Bond, an eminent military historian who served as President of the British Commission from 1986 to 2006.
