New ICMH Bibliography Committee
The International Commission of Military History’s (ICMH) Bibliography Committee (BC) is one of three specialized committees of the ICMH, along with the Archives and Educational Committees. Each provides a unique service to the ICMH as well as to the military history community, with the Bibliography Committee providing academic book reviews and editorial support to the ICMH’s new professional open access journal, Global Military History Journal (GMHJ). To enhance effectiveness and efficiency, various governance procedures have been institutionalized and streamlined, resulting in the appointment of new leaders and members of the Bibliography Committee.

ICMH Newsletter No. 45 Has Been Published
The latest issue of the ICMH Newsletter (No. 45, June 2026) has now been published and is available for download. This issue features the President’s address on the future of the annual ICMH Congresses, updates on the 51st ICMH Congress in Foz do Iguaçu and the 52nd Congress to be held in Sofia in 2027, the launch of a new ICMH-owned open-access journal, the results of the 2026 Corvisier Prize and Fellowship, the publication of the Acta of the 47th ICMH Congress in Poland, reports from the Specialized Committees, news from the National Commissions, and Historical Footnotes.

New post on the blog of the ICMH Archives Committee
A new post has been published on the blog of the ICMH Archives Committee, hosted at https://cam.hypotheses.org/. The contribution, with the support of the Secretary-General of the Committee, Kathleen Van Acker, focuses on the discovery and repatriation of archives long presumed lost: those of the Belgian Ministry of Defence relating to the Second World War.

Acta of the XLVII ICMH Congress in Poland now available
The proceedings of the XLVII ICMH Congress in Poland are now available in the website’s download area. The Congress was held in Wrocław and Opole, Poland, from 28 August to 2 September 2022, and focused on the theme The Defense of Borders in Military History, from the Middle Ages to the Present Day.
